Retro/Vintage Tux & Suit Rentals

My fiance and I had a hard time figuring out what style would work for himself and the men in our wedding. Here are some fun tuxedo options we looked into.

(classic zoot suit, fun plaid tuxedo- these can be located at Tuxedo Wholesaler)

We tried to look around for suits that resembled Zac Efron's style during his performance in Hairspray. The issue with that was similar suits are hard to find in my area or the cost is much higher.

We ended up settling on this nice Calvin Klein two-button suit from MW. The gray color is nice since its an early am wedding and it looks similar to a suit. Very sharp!

Non-DIY Retro Inspired Wedding Favors

I have always been a fan of DIY favors, whether its for a wedding, birthday, anniversary. Although, I have been seeing some very unique and cute retro "inspired" wedding favors and packaging lately and I wanted to share them with you.

These favors are featured on the site My Wedding Favors. Most of these can be found on various wedding favors sites, the costs vary. Suggestion: Look around at some sites that have the same item, the shipping costs vary a lot which can lead to you paying more.

MORE UNIQUE/PRACTICAL VINTAGE/RETRO INSPIRED FAVORS. ENJOY!

These favors can be located on AmericanBridal.com

My fiance and I have decided to settle on these wedding favors, as it matches our personalities and love for refrigerator magnets, plus it was the only item we could agree on, haha.

50s Wedding Cake Update

The last time I updated, I mentioned how I could not decide on a wedding cake design for the wedding. I managed to pull together 2 designs and make them work in a fun & cute way.

I am a huge fan of pearl dots and fancy ribbon and I wanted to incorporate them into the wedding cake. The first cake tasting I went to was Konditor Meister. Now, I don't like to bad mouth any company but I just can't be silenced over my experience. I did not meet with the baker, my fiance, best friend, mother and I were greeted by a fairly nice young lady. She offered up coffee, water and to view the books placed on the table. We were surrounded by 6 other couples in the same layout. She was very inviting at first, bringing over large amounts of cake slices to taste, but when it came down to the design everything we wanted she said they could not do. She went back and worth asking the baker if something could be done, and it became exhausting. Don't get me wrong, the cakes we great tasting but I like bakers who think outside the box! I'm a creative person when I plan weddings so I wanted the same. I enjoy flowers on cakes, but its not my things, also the option to place my own cake topper without flowers surrounding it was not an option. The price was good, but it wasn't for us and I don't like to complain about a business. They just need to work on their customer service skills.

My second and last trip was to Andover Cakes, and the baker works out of The Tewksbury Country Club. We met with the baker and he was very nice and welcoming, the meeting with private one-on-one, they way they should be. The cake pieces were smaller to taste, but it made a large impact. The cakes were fresher and the service was amazing. He said he could do anything and become really creative about designing the cake. Michael ,the cake designer, took all our ideas and we created something that fits the style.

Concept: Ivory butter cream frosting, each tier will have a sea foam green fondant ribbon going across, the top layer will have pale pink pearl dots dusted with shimmer made of fondant and sugar and the bottom layer will remain ivory butter cream. The bottom of the cake is surrounded by pale pink pearls. My vintage cake topper will be placed atop with NO FLOWERS. Our flavors are Red Velvet, Triple Chocolate & Marble.

3rd & 4th Wedding Cake Design possibility...

I am going to have to have a vote-off for the design, because I am having a hard time choosing!
